This course will include instruction and review of fundamental asana. Each class will include asana (posture) practice and deep relaxation. All will benefit from this class. No previous experience is necessary. This general overview will also examine asana practice as it relates to posture, balance, flexibility, strength, skeletal and muscular integrity, health benefits, relieving tension, and the restorative qualities of yoga asana.

Make your own jewelry! Learn basic wire techniques. Use tools to fabricate jewelry. Design and produce a sterling silver link bracelet with toggle clasp and sterling silver and gemstone earrings. Tools and materials are provided.

American Sign Language
Fast fact: Did you know that 90% of all people who are deaf are born to hearing parents? This will be a class that is designed to educate the participant about people who are deaf, their culture, and sign language. We will encompass topics such as Deaf community, sign names, Act 57, and teach some basic signs. You will learn American Sign Language, the manual alphabet, numbers, questions, verbs, and expressions plus much more.

If you have an interest in birds and/or the value of native plants, this course is for you! Learn about a variety of shrubs, trees, and flowers native to Pennsylvania and especially attractive to birds. This course will focus on fast-growing native plants that need little maintenance, many of which are relatively inexpensive to purchase.

Bookbinding Crash Course
Learn different bookbinding techniques including stab, accordion folds, and long stitch bindings. This course will combine technique and discussion as well as ways to encourage community through simple methods of mass production. Participants will also be encouraged to work at home on projects for class discussion. For ages 12 and up.

This intermediate class will explore the hidden meaning in the cards more deeply with particular emphasis on the Major Arcana. More card spreads will be introduced, and participants will learn the intricacies of giving readings. Participants must bring a Tarot deck and have a working familiarity with the Tarot.

This workshop will guide you through process of thinking and writing like a poet. Each week you will focus on a different style of poetry (i.e. sonnets, free-verse, etc.). The workshop will conclude with a Poetry Slam to share your poetry with others.

This workshop is designed for those who want to learn how to write movie reviews. Participants will watch several contemporary and several classic films and then read and discuss various movie reviews of those films. All participants will write a complete movie review of a new release to be submitted to the local newspaper of their choice.

This six-hour workshop is designed for readers and aspiring writers who wish to learn more about the short story as an art form. Participants will read and discuss short stories by both contemporary and classic short story writers to gain insight into how short stories work.
